Accounting Specialist

Weyerhaeuser’s Montana Wood Products Finance team is looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our Kalispell Complex. This individual will be part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. They will gain experiences in multiple finance areas such as general ledger account activities, management reporting, financial reporting, internal controls, and account reconciliations. Key Functions

• Performing financial closing activities including journal entries, reporting and account reconciliations
• Analyzing financial statements and general ledger accounts
• Supporting audit requirements including internal, external and compliance audits
• Processing of accounts payable
• Preparing and presenting working papers and accurate supporting documentation
• Compose production reports for our manufacturing facilities broadening your knowledge base for the business you will support
• Participating in special projects and development opportunities
• Identifying and implementing process improvements
• Provide Front Office coordination with the finance, sales and management teams
• Verify the sites hourly payroll and provide support when needed

Qualifications

Education

• BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred
• Associates Degree in Accounting/Finance with a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience required

Skills

• Solid understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls
• Ability to analyze and interpret data and provide recommendations
• General knowledge of, and experience with, inventory processing and accounts payable
• Demonstrated ability to solve a variety of problems using sound reasoning to reach conclusions
• Ability to process data with a high degree of accuracy and detail
• Ability to multitask and work on several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Results oriented and strives for continuous improvement
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite with willingness to learn to use a variety of other software applications and tools
• Willingness to cross-train in other positions within the finance team
