The Role?

Coca-Cola seek someone as our Wastewater Operator, operate and maintain wastewater treatment system and associated equipment. Keep appropriate records documenting compliance to permit requirements. Assist in site efforts to consistently demonstrate adherence to all applicable safety and environmental regulations. Comply with all ASP standard operating procedures and requirements. Utilize best practices and make recommendations for continuous improvement of wastewater operations. Perform all tasks in a safe manner to ensure achievement of Quality, Safety, Environmental and Cost Objectives.

Must be able to work the following hours:
Sun/Mon/Tues 3:00 pm to 3:30 am (3-12 hour days)

Wed 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm (1-6 hour day)

Function Specific Activities:
The Wastewater Operator is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

Operate wastewater treatment and associated equipment

Attend daily production meetings to communicate wastewater and other environmentally-related issues.

Manage wastewater operations in an environmentally responsible manner

Resolve minor equipment technical issues

Monitor stormwater basins and outside storage areas, as needed

Maintain equipment and area cleanliness to ensure compliance with all GMP standards.

Perform preventative maintenance duties specific to wastewater and waste operations.

Maintain accurate records and logs

Conduct routine and periodic wastewater sampling and perform limited daily wastewater analyses (e.g., pH and Chemical Oxygen Demand) to meet permit requirements

Collect split wastewater samples from the City of Atlanta during semiannual sampling events

Conduct periodic waste sampling for analysis by a state-certified outside contract laboratory

Coordinate all off-site shipments for hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste and universal waste.

Serve as a site-liaison for wastewater treatment plant upgrade

Scope work to generate maintenance work orders

Troubleshoot and correct problems during equipment operation

Comply with all standard safety practices, Company rules, and policies

Able to identify deficiencies within area of responsibility and implement or recommend appropriate corrective actions

Conduct safety tours of work area once per shift to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations

Conduct periodic audits of the production areas to determine chemical or water usage

Record utility meter readings

Update excel spreadsheets of water and wastewater metrics

Minor landscaping, irrigation, and outdoor clean-up activities

Coordinate all data, report, and regulatory submission verification, validation, and documentation.

Obtain forklift license and scissor-lift operator certification within certification period

Be on-call/on-site during periods of emergencies

Demonstrate leadership and responsibility

Working Conditions:
Work involves exposure to temperature extremes, indoor/outdoor transition, work-at -heights, high noise levels, wet conditions, industrial waste, chemicals, dust, moving equipment, vibrations and vapors.

To ensure adequate coverage, vacation schedule may be limited to no more than one full week of time off per calendar year.

Remaining vacation days can be scheduled and taken in less than day-increments with prior approval.

Equipment Used:
Common laboratory equipment, personal computer, forklift, hoist, hand cart, hand tools, measuring instruments, equipment operations manuals, and M/SDS sheets.

Personal protective equipment including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel-toed shoes and hearing protection.

Non-essential Functions:
Travel to other locations.

Explain and demonstrate job tasks to visitors.

Order supplies and chemicals.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.

Class I Wastewater Operator License issued by the State of Georgia.

Maintain Class I Wastewater Operator Certification Renewal through continuing education credits.

Maintain Powered Industrial Truck (Forklift/Scissor-Lift/Pallet Jacks) operator certification.

Oversee the pH Neutralization Facility for treatment of corrosive production imbalance, product returns and other related materials.

Ability to work on projects independently and under minimal supervision.

Physical agility including climbing, bending, kneeling, twisting, and lifting minimum of 50 lbs

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand instructions given in English.

Ability to read and understand equipment operations manuals, basic electrical and mechanical drawings, and to perform minor maintenance tasks (after training) as related to wastewater equipment.

Ability to work eight-hour shifts, twelve-hour shifts, or other work schedules as determined by business need, including overtime as required.

Ability to conduct training of others.

Must be certified on the JHA/JPM for this position within sixty working days of start date.

Preferred Job Requirements:
Aerobic and Anaerobic treatment experience.

Ability to supervise RCRA Hazardous Waste Storage Area operations and conduct routine weekly inspections of satellite accumulation areas.

Hazardous Waste, Universal Waste, OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response – 16 hour, and US DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation certified training.
