Social & Community Marketing Coordinator

Streamline Publishing is seeking a Social & Community Marketing Coordinator for immediate full-time hire to join our team of rockstar marketers, designers, copywriters, and technology experts. We are a fast-growing company (Inc. 5000) with a focus on publishing, events, and e-commerce in the arts and radio broadcast space.

Under the direction of the VP Digital Operations, the Social & Community Marketing Coordinator is the customer facing, image-maker of our amazing brands. They will ensure that each piece of communication is not only in the correct voice of the brand, but extremely relevant to the many demographics we serve. They will be dedicated to engagement – getting people to click on our content, read more, become a subscriber, and become a customer!

Who Are You?

You L-O-V-E Social Media and know how to get extraordinary results from the many available platforms. You know which network (and messaging) to best reach 19-25 year-old art students vs. 45-55 year-old portrait painters. You know how we should best edit and promote our videos to increase views and engagement on YouTube. You understand how to use SnapChat (!!???) for good rather than evil.

You enjoy using your analytical skills to run targeted paid campaigns and then measure the outcomes to tweak and optimize for the best results. Pixels, custom audiences, retargeting, look-alike audiences — this isn’t your first rodeo.

The idea of building a community of 100,000+ actively engaged and passionate members gives you a rush. The challenge of growing that community to 200,000+ makes you even more excited!

You’re a bit of a talk show host in a social media manager’s body. You have a magnetic, exciting personality that can engage people while communicating clearly over text or video. You feel confident producing quick off-the-cuff content that fits the vision and mission of Streamline Publishing.

You are a natural problem-solver. You don’t sit around sipping vanilla lattés waiting for someone to spoon-feed you the answers. You’re proactive and know how to seek out the answers you need to get things done. Note: we can (and will) drop you into new software tools and expect you to figure it out!

You understand that not everyone gets this “digital stuff” so you are both professional and humble when sharing your knowledge and supporting the team. You are not above doing the little things that need to be done each and every day.

You are focused and take ownership of your role. Because you will be working from home, if you are easily distracted, this job is NOT for you. If you need the buzz of the office watercooler, this may not be the job for you either.

Your friends might call you a bit of a tech geek, which is okay because you’ll fit right in with our team. We’re always looking for smarter ways to do things so we’ll rely on you to bring us the latest tools to help us do bigger and better things!

Above all, you love new media and social marketing. I don’t mean ‘like’ – I mean flat out obsession. You read blogs and subscribe to podcasts about this stuff because you think it’s pretty damn cool (we do too!)

Bonus Points: You know your way around Photoshop and Canva and can quickly design graphics that elevate our brands across various social channels.

Responsibilities Include

  • Oversee and execute social media strategies (both organic and paid), guidelines, best practices, and promotional campaigns across all platforms and communities (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, Medium, Reddit, etc.);
  • But seriously, it’s so important that I’m going to mention it twice: profitable Facebook / YouTube / AdWords campaigns… this is your jam.
  • Post daily stories and content across all outlets;
  • Monitor and address all comments (whether positive or negative), using each engagement as an opportunity to convert people into raving fans;
  • Strategically plan social media campaigns and then measure and communicate progress against weekly/monthly goals for analytics, growth of community, interaction and findings;
  • Collaborate with our various content producers to support the development of digital content that is relevant and engaging to our audiences;
  • Stay relevant to latest trends and growing platforms;
  • Aim for high interaction and virality of posts;
  • Master the voice of each brand;
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:
The Ideal Candidate

  • Has 2 – 4 years experience in a hands-on social media role;
  • Prefers the chaos of a small entrepreneurial business vs. a corporate bureaucracy;
  • Is focused and able to maintain productivity without a structured office routine or supervision;
  • Takes ownership of their work – your work is an extension of you and your dedication to perfection and continued growth;
  • Is in curiosity-mode at all times, undertaking a continual study on the industry to determine what’s working and what’s on the horizon.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with the various mainstream and emerging social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) – including an understanding of audience makeup and demographics;
  • Experience running and optimizing paid social ad campaigns, primarily in Facebook, YouTube, AdWords, and the Google Display Network;
  • Experience with online monitoring and measurement platforms including Facebook Insights, YouTube Insights, Google Analytics, Twitter, etc.
  • Understanding of basic marketing principles;
  • Basic HTML and CSS, WordPress, email marketing, etc.
  • Bonus points if you have strong graphic design skills!

Benefits:
This opportunity is location independent (meaning that you get to work from home) but you must be available during regular business hours for maximum cross-over with the rest of our team. For this reason (and tax / hiring implications), this position is open to U.S. residents only.

Depending on your experience, this position pays in the range of $35 – $45k annually. You will be on an initial, fully paid, three-month probation period, during which you will receive advanced training and professional certification in the areas related to your role (http://certifications.digitalmarketer.com). You will evaluate if this company is right for you, and we will do the same.

We will only consider you if directions are followed – so don’t simply spam us with your resume/cover letter. Please fill out all fields to be considered.
