Curriculum Developer

Sokikom is currently seeking a motivated curriculum designer to join our team. As a curriculum designer, you’ll design engaging online math problems from K – 6th grade that meet the rigorous Common Core Mathematics Standards as well as standards from other states. You will help review existing content for mapping to various state math standards and identify areas where new content needs to be developed. You are able to develop the needed content and work with our engineers to suggest other ways the material can be taught in our platform. You will collaborate with other content team members, software engineers and teachers throughout the development cycle. Your strong math background, strong writing skills, and attention to details will drive the success of our math product. This is a remote, contracted position that can be completed anywhere in the US.

Responsibilities

• Create Common Core Specific Math Items in grades K – 6.
• Review existing content for alignment to Common Core and other state standards, e.g. Washington, Texas, New York, Florida, Illinois
• Test content before it goes to final release and report any bugs/issues
• Write clear, helpful, age- appropriate solutions to math problems
• Create images for problems to enhance the learning experience for students
• Create content mapping for different state standards, e.g. Washington, Texas, New York, Florida, Illinois

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Elementary Education, or related field
• Math teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience
• Excellent writing ability
• Highly self-motivated with an attention to detail.
