Senior UI Engineer

Job Summary:

Oracle
has an opportunity for a talented Senior Engineer to join their world class
development organization reporting to the Manager of Software Development. We
are seeking an engineer who is passionate about creating exceptional user
experience through our web interfaces, leading teams and driving business
value. This person will join the the team currently tasked with developing DNS,
Email and Traffic Management capabilities and integrating with Oracle Cloud
offering.

Duties:

  • Leadership, Lead a team of engineers
    of various levels through planning design and delivery.
  • Operate effectively and with a sense
    of urgency to meet deadlines and escalate issues appropriately
  • Consistently exercise independent
    judgment and discretion
  • Dedicated team player capable of
    balancing engineering excellence and business alignment
  • Develop new applications, add
    features, and maintain software documentation
  • Ensure high quality code via automated
    unit and functional tests; Work with the test engineering group to conduct
    end-to-end testing
  • Collaborate with team members on code
    review process; Identify errors to resolve issues with existing
    applications and systems
  • Familiarity with implementing applications
    in a SAAS and cloud environments. Comfortable with third party application
    integration and instrumentation
  • Work within a defined development and
    release schedule
  • Collaborate with team to contribute to
    a productive and high-performing work environment and willingness to coach
    other members of the team
  • Other duties

Skills:

  • Experienced leader adept at motivating
    team members and leading by example.
  • Experience with Web development for
    multiple browsers and mobile friendly using some of the following
    technologies
    • HTML,
      CSS/LESS, UIKit and Handlebars
    • JavaScript/TypeScript,
      Python, Go
    • Library/Frameworks
      including AngularJS, BackboneJS, PhantomJS, MarionetteJS, Django, React,
      JQuery
  • Integration with REST Web Services
  • Should be a flexible, resourceful,
    team player that is able to thrive in a fast-paced, fluid environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem
    solving skills and the ability to break down large complex tasks into
    smaller, more manageable sub-tasks
  • Experience with Object Oriented Design
    principles
  • Experience building and deploying
    scalable, public facing software
  • Should be
    detail-oriented, extremely organized, and have exceptional written and
    communication skills

Additional skills:

  • Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum
  • Operational experience using CHEF,
    Ansible, containers, virtualization
  • Experience developing high performance
    interfaces
  • Familiarity with Positive User
    experience design patterns
  • Working knowledge of automation
    technologies like Selenium, Karma, Jasmine
  • Working knowledge of continuous
    integration and deployment tools like Grunt, Docker, Jenkins, TeamCity,
    BitBucket
  • Experience
    developing in a Linux environment is a plus

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
