SAP Transportation Systems Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY: T

his position works with peers in the LGO, RBS and D&B teams to design, maintain, implement and enhance GLOBE SAP Transportation applications from a technical standpoint. The incumbent will provide technical guidance in assessing available technologies and recommending solutions related to transportation requirements in conjunction with the GLOBE RBS and D&B groups. In addition, the incumbent assists with development, testing, and support activities related to the implementation of new Nestlé applications and enhancements. The Systems Analyst works closely with business analysts and users to document requirements and to resolve transportation issues. The incumbent will also liaise with GLOBE technical resources and offshore developers to ensure solutions are in line with GLOBE best practices and compliance standards from a technical and architectural perspective. The candidate may also interact with external vendors of transportation solutions and with 3rd party offshore production support groups. The Systems Analyst is knowledgeable and familiar with configuration, batch job management, and other technical maintenance for SAP TM as well as with integration requirements to other SAP systems. Familiarity with fleet management solutions and reporting tools is highly desirable. Experience conducting proof of concepts on cutting edge transportation technology solutions is a bonus. The position requires excellent communication skills and accountability for the quality of deliverables. Weekend and after hour support may be required, especially during implementation periods.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical System Analysis

  • Evaluate business requirements and projects for technical impacts; propose solutions and work with appropriate technical resources to implement.
  • Collaborate with functional analysts to document technical specifications based on business requirements and change requests.
  • Conduct proof of concepts in sandbox environment to demonstrate technical feasibility of proposed solution. Execute all configuration, condition, and data set up and work with implementation teams during industrialization.
  • Investigate new technologies and make recommendations concerning their feasibility in the GLOBE landscape.
  • Develop strong working relationships with business, management, and other LGO, RBS and D&B team members. Support and Maintenance
  • Collaborate with out-sourced production support services to regularly monitor systems and respond to user tickets. Collaborate with appropriate teams to implement and test system fixes.
  • Prepare standard routines and perform root cause investigations. Compliance
  • Support GLOBE compliance standards; ensure all deliverables meet compliance requirements.
  • Follow Nestle standards for system change management.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Internal: * Reports to the Manager, IS Development, Transportation Systems * Receives guidance from Supply Chain and Logistics Business Organization External: * Has contact with vendors, consultants, contractors, RBS, D&B and professional associations to keep informed of existing and evolving industry standards and technologies

SUPERVISION GIVEN: Internal: * Coaches and trains peers and other staff personnel as required

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required
  • SAP certification or three years of experience on a SAP system in a technical capacity.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of experience in an IT environment, preferably with SAP TM or other transportation management system.
  • Experience working with technical teams to integrate, implement and support complex solutions in support of enterprise applications and systems
  • Experience conducting proofs of concept for complex and innovate technical solutions.

SKILLS:

  • Leadership skills that energize multidiscipline work teams to respond to business needs
  • Understanding of and familiarity with the SAP TM, TMW and/or SAP BW is strongly desired
  • Familiarity with transportation-related EDI standards.
  • Strong analytical aptitude with a proven ability to analyze/interpret business requirements and translate them into system specifications
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solution to complex problems that may not have one clear answer; the ability to identify alternatives, workarounds, or temporary solutions.
  • The ability to challenge the status quo and recommend new methods and solutions to problems and issues
