Your expert skill in software development will contribute to XPO’s rapid growth in areas of logistics, transportation optimization, geospatial engineering, desktop, mobile and IoT device applications. See your own career rise to the next level as part of our global team of almost 2000 technology professionals. These are some of the things you will be doing as part of our Portland-based crew:

  • Design, develop and maintain web-based and mobile software applications that support transportation network optimization and approximately 15,000 transportation network operators.
  • Collaborate with architects, systems engineers, project managers, systems administrators, and operations analysts to design, develop and implement solutions and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Work on complex problems related to the scalability, reliability and performance of the software.
  • Evaluate identified technologies for inclusion in developed software solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, MIS, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise-based software development.
  • Expert-level experience in JavaScript and RESTful APIs for production environments
  • Experience with backend development in Java
  • Experience with AngularJS, Google Material Design
  • Experience developing Responsive/Adaptive Design solutions (RWD)
  • JPA/Hibernate, Node.js a plus
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities
  • Ability to learn and understand functionality of multiple logistics-related systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset to work effectively in a dynamic Agile team environment.
  • Experience with the industry standard IDEs – Eclipse, RAD, Visual Studio – for Java and Windows.
