Lead AWS Specialist

Lithium is seeking an Lead Operations Engineer specializing in cloud operations and AWS who will be an integral member of our Infrastructure Operations Team and will focus on supporting our 24×7 SaaS application, maintaining and improving existing infrastructure and planning and implementing new technologies in a high scale, high uptime and high security environment.

Responsibilities:

• Build, migrate and maintain Lithium’s cloud and datacenter infrastructure
• Monitor infrastructure stability, capacity and performance
• Develop tools to build, maintain, and monitor infrastructure
• Work cross-functionally with various product engineering teams
• Improve the reliability and efficiency of Lithium products
• Write comprehensive documentation
• Respond to incidents and participate in an on-call rotation

Requirements:

• 5+ years of Linux/UNIX systems administration experience and AWS
• Expert level knowledge of AWS with SysOps focus
• Datacenter to AWS migration experience
• Configuration management using Chef and/or Puppet
• Shell and/or Python scripting
• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Bachelors degree with technical major or equivalent experience

Additional Desired Qualifications:

• MySQL and Cassandra database administration and tuning experience
• Hadoop, Cassandra or other large distributed data store experience
• Experience in server/network hardening and security best practices
