Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Plant & Environmental Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support reliability and efficiency of North American facilities mechanical systems (e.g., chillers, compressors and cooling towers).

Reporting to the Manager, the person in this role will support the Plant & Environmental Engineering department’s objective to provide reliable and efficient mechanical systems to Toyota’s North American (NA) manufacturing and R&D facilities.

What you’ll be doing

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for chillers, compressors, and cooling towers at a regional level to support NA facilities.
  • Measure & analyze reliability and efficiency for NA maintenance and operations as a chiller, compressor, and cooling tower function leader.
  • Responsible to create and implement regional operational standards.
  • Evaluate chiller, compressor, and cooling tower system performance and implement improvements.
  • Enhance the NA facilities ability to use current data management systems (SAP, PeopleSoft, Maximo).

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in an Engineering Major
  • Working experience with Mechanical Utility systems (Air Compressors, Chillers, Cooling Towers) in terms of maintenance and operations.
  • Experience in Manufacturing/Industrial Plant maintenance and operations or Facility Utility Systems
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Intermediate level experience of computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, and Outlook)

Added bonus if you have

  • Experience in CMMS development and usage
  • Working experience in failure mode analysis
  • Project management experience relating to cost reduction and reliability for Manufacturing/Industrial Plant maintenance and operations or Facility Utility Systems
