MS Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology is the global technology department responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) business. The department is comprised of 10 organizations: Sales, Banking & Corporate-Client Technology, Investment Products & Markets Technology, Client Reporting, Core Processing, Private and International Wealth Management Technology, Technology Integration Office, Enterprise Infrastructure & Production Management, Capital Markets Application & Data Services, Deployment Planning & Release Management, and the Chief Operating Office. Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology works with large scale databases such as DB2 and SQL Server, proprietary and non-proprietary messaging software, a broad variety of vendor products, numerous financial exchanges and regulatory entities, and programming languages ranging from .Net and Java to Cobol and VB.Net.

Position Description

As a Sr. Application developer/Lead, candidate will be responsible for the full delivery (designing, developing, coding, testing, debugging and documenting) of applications to satisfy business requirements. Candidate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, hands-on, motivated self-starter who can work independently and may need to manage a small team of junior technology resources. Must have a solid understanding and proven working experience on Advisory Portfolio Management trading application. Should be well versed in testing techniques and be able to produce comprehensive tests for all developed code. Candidate must also support and participate in system and integrated testing across applications as the need arises.

Qualifications


Required Skills

1. Proven programmer with a solid understanding of Mainframe, JCL and DB2 technologies

2. Understanding of all MS development environment and tools and the full SDLC process as implemented at MS.

3. Good Analytical and problem solving skills

4. Good Communication and team player skills, ability to work as part of a team developing various aspects of the UI with back-end API calls

5. An intimate knowledge of the current Lydia application, has coded many of the current interfaces including account navigator (has worked on the team prior for 12 years)

6. Proven track record of quality deliverables while meeting deadlines

7. Ability to guide and mentor the junior members of the team

8. Experience in performance tuning, code profiling, code review, hands on experience using Best Patterns and Practices
