Responsible for customized freight invoice generation for clients.

Essential Functions:
Reviews and interprets contractual requirements for individual customer invoicing needs

Creates invoices based on contractual requirements (i.e. EDI, manual, consolidated, etc)

Research bal-due A/R debits and credits in TMS and Oracle for original amount verification.

Complete the TMS Entry and follow up in Oracle the following day for transmission accuracy.

Review EDI reports correcting EDI rejects by either creating a paper invoice or correcting problem and resending for transmission via EDI the following night.

Respond to field requests for invoice corrections, re-prints, or to meet documentation requirements.

Research and analyze kick outs, corrections and adjustments, develop solutions and select the solution that best meets customer needs.

Confirms invoices are received by customers

Ensure daily, weekly and monthly customer deadlines are met based on the individual requirements for each account.

Scope and Accountability:
Completes moderately complex tasks following well-defined procedures; may involve a variety of work routines. Applies a range of experience and/or skills. Selects the appropriate alternatives from a variety of defined options. May provide on-the-job training to new team members

Qualification Requirements: Knowledge : HS Diploma, or equivalent, some college level accounting coursework strongly desired. Prior knowledge of transportation industry terminology, specifically as it relates to invoicing and rating structures Skills :

  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office as well as the desktop and internet environments
  • Advanced MS Excel skills strongly desired, intermediate MS Excel required
  • Knowledge of Oracle A/P and A/R applications or other accounting related software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of freight transportation industry and terminology
  • Work effectively with others and build relationships with XP Operational Staff as well as clients
  • Ability to move between processes and adapt to differing client needs with little to no transition period
  • Excellent time management skills in order to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team structure

Experience : 0-2 years professional experience

Work Environment : The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment and a light industrial environment, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office equipment and industrial equipment.
