Web Developer/PHP Developer

The Web Developer/PHP Programmer is responsible for developing innovative, reusable web-based tools for progressive online activism and community building. Out web developers work closely with our marketing team to develop specifications and make recommendations on the use of new and emerging technologies and optimization of current technology.

Essential Functions – Duties & Responsibilities:
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Works with marketing team to produce and maintain high quality websites using PHP programming.
• Database design and development using MySQL
• Process Automation/Improvement – Build software applications for web interfaces to automate tasks that are currently manual.
• Ongoing development of existing functionality on a wide range of internal web-based applications.
• Optimization of current website, back-end design and organization.
• Develop quarterly Facebook campaign applications.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Required:

• Associates degree and 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years’ experience in lieu of degree
• 2-5 years’ experience coding using PHP/XHTML/CSS/MySQL/XML/XSLT/AJAX/JAVASCRIPT/LAMP
• Must be able to program using MVC frameworks, PHP and database driven applications
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team

Preferred:

• Knowledge of website usability/SEO/SYMFONY/CODEIGNITER/EXPRESSION ENGINE/KAHONA/JSON/Linux OS/Web Services
