Senior Manager Information Systems – SAP Development Lead

Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager Information Systems (IS) – SAP Applications Development Lead to join the Enterprise Platforms & Corporate Functions group and will support the effective and efficient execution and support of the ERP vision to improve end user experience and optimally meet the business needs.

The SAP Lead will be responsible for the solution design of all the SAP custom developments and Integration objects for multiple projects and releases. The incumbent will proactively lead the collaboration and engagement with the IS and business process teams in delivering best practice solutions based on business & industry best practices and drive the SAP development solution roadmap within Amgen. The Senior Manager will be the single point of contact for SME level guidance on SAP Applications Development that will be introduced into the Amgen environment.

The Senior Manager Information Systems – SAP Applications Development Lead will report to the Director IS based out of Amgen’s Capability Center in Tampa, Florida. Global ERP center of excellence (COE) is part of the global business services (GBS) organization and solely responsible for managing the 24X7 regulated SAP environment.

Key Activities for the Senior Manager Information Systems include:

Responsible for the solution design of all the SAP custom developments and Integration objects for multiple projects and releases

Proactively lead the collaboration and engagement with the IS and business process teams in delivering best practice solutions based on business & industry best practices and drive the SAP development solution roadmap within Amgen

Support the effective and efficient execution and support of the ERP vision to improve end user experience and optimally meet the business needs

Provide leadership and day-to-day management of the SAP Development team including the managed service provider teams

Work closely with business teams, consulting teams and IT partners in understanding requirements and delivering customizations into production for SAP projects, enhancements and releases

Manage third party vendors for Solution design and Build. Ensure the consistent delivery of quality deliverables with proper change control

Define and maintain development processes and coding standards for developments and enforce adherence to the same

Execute SAP strategies and best practices for the development, maintenance and support of the SAP environment in SD, MM, PP, WM, FICO, GTS, and AII/OER

Review and approve development designs, Technical and Functional specification for RICEFW development objects including ABAP/PO/PI/EDI/Fiori customizations

Define governance processes for Impact assessments for changes across multiple landscapes

Define strategy and closely work with SAP on the rollout of enhancement packs/upgrades

Participate and support audits for custom code development and change management

Perform code review for all SAP development and integration

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Master’s degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

AND

2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications

2 + years of Solution Design and Development experience in SAP ABAP, ABAP on HANA and PI

8+ years of experience in managing application development teams both off shore and on-shore

Strong ABAP technical skills, BRF, WebDynpro ABAP, Workflow including understanding of software development principle

Custom development of RICEFW in SD, MM, WM, PP, FI, CO, GTS and AII/OER, ATTP

Strong Interface development knowledge in SAP PI and PO including working knowledge of REST adapter, SLD/ESR/ID configuration, BPM, EDI and web services

Understanding of the overall SAP enterprise system landscape, as well as the capabilities of PI in conjunction with non-SAP systems. Expertise in Java, XSLT and ABAP mapping

Development of SAP mobile/desktop applications using SAP UI5, Fiori, OData services, SAP Netweaver Gateway

Knowledge of SAP HANA, HANA Modeling, procedures development and fixes

Experience in building ABAP CDS objects (Core Data Services)

Experience with ABAP Development Tool Kit using HANA studio or Eclipse

Experience with analysis tools like Run time analysis, SQL Trace, code inspector and SAP ABAP Test Cockpit to check the quality of the ABAP code and optimize for SAP HANA

ABAP code pushdown and Data modelling to SQL for ECC Suite on HANA, CDS views and ABAP Managed Data Procedures

SAP key project deployments, working closely with application leaders, ensuring consistent project execution/delivery by providing oversight and management of projects

Good understanding of SAP HANA Cloud platform and development of Mobile and IOT applications using HANA Cloud platform
