Volcano Bay – Attendant, Premium Services

SUMMARY : Process guests in and out of attraction queues. Provides information/direction on ride restrictions and gives assistance to guests when required. Executes Special Events within Volcano Bay and delivers exemplary guest services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Responsible for opening and closing attraction queues, scans and verifies products for appropriate in-park usage. Assist guests with wearable, tap points and routes guests through appropriate lanes. Assists Lifeguards with evacuating rides during shutdowns.
  • Provides exemplary guest service and discreetly screens guests for ride requirements and special access needs. Understands and demonstrates knowledge of ancillary products, uses tablet to update queue information and provides guest recovery when needed. Maintains a clean and safe work environment by monitoring the immediate area and keeping it free of debris to include: the proper maintenance of equipment and/or props.
  • Executes special events within Volcano Bay by assisting with arrivals and check-in of event guests, facilitate movement of groups throughout the park to include transportation, provide overall itinerary information and maintain boundaries of event, distribute materials as required and assist with on-site needs.
  • Must have an overall knowledge of the entire property including on-site hotels. Responsible for providing capacity management support within UO Resort during peak park operation and daily early park admission.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SCOPE : Assists guests in the attraction queues. Provides information/direction on ride restrictions, virtual wearable, executes special events within Volcano Bay and delivers exemplary guest services.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

EDUCATION :

  • High school degree or GED required.

EXPERIENCE :

  • 3-6 months guest service experience preferred but not required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to think on your feet.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

  • Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) stand for prolonged periods; work in outdoor weather conditions to include direct sunlight, heat or cold; talk; use hands and fingers to grip, pinch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; climb stairs/ladders; work at heights for prolonged periods of time including heights with or without railings or over open pits greater than 4 feet; balance; lift up to 25-50 pounds with control; push up to 50-100 pounds with control; work in varied light conditions including low or diminished lighting; maintain alertness and attentiveness up to 4 hours while working varying hours; maintain concentration/focus (e.g., ability to interpret the work environment and make decisions on predetermined operating policies and procedure).
  • Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) walk for prolonged periods (including ability to walk at a given pace that is predetermined by a moving sidewalk); reach, pull, push with hands and arms below head.
  • Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) repeat motions more than twice per minute.
  • Specific vision requirements for this role may include: close vision with or without corrective lens (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision with or without corrective lens (clear vision at 20 feet or more); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus while in changing light conditions e.g., sunshine to indoor or dark conditions).

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

  • Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) work on water attractions or yachts.
  • Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) use a motorized company vehicle or a leased or personal vehicle for company business.
