Entertainment – Manager, Entertainment Production

This is a Seasonal Position

SUMMARY : Manages all Marquee Events and other projects as assigned resort wide. Including but not limited to: HHN, Holidays, Concert series, Mardi Gras etc. Oversees the project from design, production through post.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Manages overall process of production from design approval through post production. Including but not limited to: scheduling, budgeting, hiring of personnel, inter and intra departmental communications.
  • Builds, manages and reconciles project budgets. Maintains status reports and archives of each project.
  • Adheres to UO Financial policies and procedures, bid processes, negotiations and all aspects of contracting. Also responsible for writing scopes of work and EAR’s .
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY : Directly supervises: Stage managers, coordinators, PA’s, Asst. Stage Managers, Supervisors, Talent and Technicians. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to function in a fluid environment are required. Familiarity and prior exposure to standard and multi-faceted entertainment offerings preferred.

Consistent attendance is a job requirement.

EDUCATION :

  • High school degree or GED is required.
  • Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university is preferred.
  • Three to five years professional experience in Entertainment and Production management.
  • Working technical knowledge of stage direction, lighting, audio and video required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 – 5 years Production Management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience .

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Will require a valid Florida state driver’s license

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

  • Specific vision requirements for this role may include: close vision with or without corrective lens (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision with or without corrective lens (clear vision at 20 feet or more); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus while in changing light conditions e.g., sunshine to indoor or dark conditions).

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

  • Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) exposed to outdoor weather conditions; occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles.
  • While performing this job, the noise level in the work environment is Moderate Noise (Examples: business office with typewriters and/or computer printer, light traffic)
