Starting Salary: $4,667 – $5,274/Month plus Full State Benefit Package

This position is in the Office of Special Education.

Summary of Work

  • Implement and monitor IDEA federal program requirements. Participate in unit internal and focused monitoring process of the local districts and special education units.
  • Develop and offer technical assistance to local school districts and special education units.
  • Work with school districts and special education units on compliance and performance monitoring.
  • TA lead for an assigned region of the state.
  • Design and offer professional development based on data results.
  • Develop guidance/training information for parents and educators.
  • Collect data, develop data reports, and make presentations based on interpretations of data.
  • Design and offer professional development based on data results.
  • Assume management as Dispute Resolution Coordinator and Department 504 Coordinator.
  • Develop guidance, information for parents/educators specific to dispute resolution process, IDEA requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires:

  • Master’s degree in Special Education or in an education-related field with an undergraduate major in Special Education.
  • A Special Education Endorsement is required.
  • Five years of professional-level experience working with students with disabilities, one year of which included administrative duties.
  • Additional coursework in management or administration may substitute for the administrative work experience.
