Summary of Work

This position uses a team approach to implement and advance tobacco prevention activities at the local and state level. Duties include:

  • Provide training and technical assistance to tobacco prevention and control program partners and grantees.
  • Coordinate the statewide tobacco prevention and control grant program for local public health units. This includes grant applications, work plans, budgets and progress reports .
  • Engage partners to develop and promote objectives, strategies and activities relating to program goals.
  • Work with state and local coalitions to advance policy efforts.
  • Participate in updating and implementing work to support the goals, objectives, strategies and activities of the North Dakota tobacco prevention and control state plan.
  • Assist with completion of grants, publications and oral and written reports.
  • Evaluate grant programs and activities to provide recommendations for improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in community health, nursing, education, communications, social or behavioral science, or a related field and two years related professional work experience. Ideal applicants will have experience in working with health promotion and/or prevention policies; excellent organizational and communication skills; group presentation and training skills; experience in grant program coordination; and involvement with community engagement and/or coalition activities .
