Description:

• Translate and implement, from architectural and concept designs, software solutions
• Participate in software development solutions within a team environment
• Collaborate in the validation of design concepts or technical feasibility for software solutions
• Research Technology options and solutions in regards to software development needed to support Steelcase product strategy
• Participate in the issues and defect tracking for products under life cycle management
• Maintain software to implement feature enhancements and quality improvements
• Take part in and environment of continuous learning and exploration to identify and apply new and improved software concepts, standards, and technologies
• Participate in cross-functional teams that support the development of product marketing and design requirements

Required Skills

• Collaborate with Marketing, Design and Engineering Teams to support Software development solutions that create desirable customer experiences.
• Translate insights into SW specifications that can be leveraged across frameworks and system that support product and space integration.
• Web application architecture, design and development
• Responsive web design methods or patterns for desktop, tablet and mobile web
• Server development and management
• Database design/implementation in web-based applications
• (Nice to have): IoT experience
• (Nice to have): Asynchronous/real-time communication methods or frameworks (web sockets, etc.)

Software:

• Microsoft Platforms: .NET, Azure Cloud Services
• Javascript, NodeJS
• JSON REST- based APIs
• SQL/NoSQL databases
• (Nice to have): Linux, AngularJS, Docker, Clojure, microservices

Required Experience

• Computer Science degree required or equivalent experience. A degree is required if less than 5 years’ experience.
• 5-10 years experience (2-5 in focus)
