Senior Financial Analyst

Now seeking: Number crunchers. In finance and accounting, we crunch the numbers to collect and pay the bills. Some of us plan for the future; others account for the here and now. We’re looking for associates who like to report, calculate, analyze and push our (calculator) buttons to find out how to improve our finances and increase profits. If you get a kick out of creating elaborate spreadsheets, mathematical equations and can type on a 10-key faster than a computer, then let’s swap numbers.
We are looking for a full time Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team at our world headquarters in the greater Kansas City area.
Essential functions for this role include:
  • Prepare and analyze cost center (budget vs. actual) reports
  • Prepare and analyze profitability statements by geography and segment
  • Participate in the preparation of annual budget
  • Recommend internal process changes which will lead to greater financial and operating efficiency, driving overall business process standardization
  • Prepare various analyses and reports for distribution to senior management
  • Participate in development of a Business Intelligence system that will provide key statistics for senior management
  • Lead initiatives to streamline financial reporting processes for company – and across multiple areas of Finance
  • Conduct monthly financial reviews with managers and directors as needed
  • Serve as project manager for key initiatives within the group

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance AND must possess a minimum of 7 years performing a Financial Analyst role. Other required qualifications and experience include:
  • Demonstrates a proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel & Access
  • Must be detail-oriented and can work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
  • Excellent time management and follow-up skills
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
  • Demonstrates a proficient knowledge of accounting theory and methods
  • Demonstrates a technical acumen across financial technology systems
  • Demonstrates proficient presentation skills
Candidates with a Masters of Business Administration Degree, experience working for a company with global operations, and prior Oracle experience are preferred. Experience in consolidating financial information of multiple companies or business units and/or experience with business intelligence and financial reporting systems are other desired skills.
