Senior Applications Developer

Positions in this function are predominantly involved in developing business solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications. Primary contributor in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value.

Primary Responsibilities:
Design, implement and maintain applications within all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Develop, test, implement and maintain application software working with established processes

Communicate effectively with other engineers and QE

Establish, refine and integrate development and test environment tools and software as needed

Identify production and non-production application issues

Identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize applications

Provide technical support and consultation for an application and infrastructure questions

Serve as a mentor to less experienced developers

Developing pioneering approaches to emerging industry trends

Contribute to development team and help to achieve key business objectives

Contribute to large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives

Collaborate with the team on application architecture design and decision-making

Design and implement application enhancements in collaboration with different teams

Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business

Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences

The candidate must be able to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) OR High School Diploma /GED with 5+ years of experience as an applications developer

2+ years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience

2+ years of SQL Server, Sybase or Oracle development experience with designing data structures, building functions, stored procedures, indexes, triggers and performance tuning

1+ years of development experience in C#, Java and/or .Net

Preferred Qualifications:
Health care experience and exposure to EDI and HIPAA transactions

Knowledge of Facets or claims systems a plus

Experience working in Agile Methodology and/or CICD, ATDD

Experience with Source Control systems (example: GIT)

Experience working with Automated Testing tools (Selenium, Cucumber etc)

Experience working in a virtual team environment

Soft Skills:
Strong analytical, problem solving skills, must be able to work well with teams

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
