Overnight Packaging Team Leader

Zak The Baker is a local, artisanal bakery specializing in sourdough bread and traditional pastries. At 295 NW 26 St in Wynwood, everything is made on site, from scratch. The bakery has achieved steady and rapid growth thanks to its craftsmanship and high quality standards that have nurtured a strong reputation in the food and beverage community. Our wholesale operations supply fresh bread and pastry to hotels, restaurants and retail locations in South Florida, including Whole Foods Market.

We are currently seeking an Overnight Pastry Packaging Team Leader to join our growing team.

The Overnight Pastry Packaging Team Leader is responsible for the supervision of the Overnight Pastry Packaging operation.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

– Overseeing the daily operations of the over night packaging production, supervising the team to ensure quality and consistency of all pastry packaging.

– Packaging Zak The Baker pastries in alignment with packaging standards.

– Troubleshooting production issues together with the Overnight Pastry Team Leader.

– Compliance of Overnight Pastry Packaging operations with defined food safety regulations.

– Inventory of all packaging materials.

– Supervising the respect of the team’s weekly schedule (starting time, finishing time).

The position involves:

-Lifting up to 50lbs

-Working night shifts, potentially until early morning.

-Standing up for long hours

-Work in a cold/hot environment, with flour.

-Climbing on a ladder.

-Working with sharp equipment, or heavy machinery like ovens.

-Maintaining calm and composure in all circumstances, in a fast pace and high volume environment.

Relevant experience in a high volume packaging operation is required.
