Summary

This position in IT will work with other IT team members and key business users to do support, projects and enhance the usage of Oracle Applications and other bolt-on systems specifically related to the financials, supply chain, manufacturing, and project functional areas, specifically the Oracle GL, AR, AP, Fixed Assets, OM, and Project Billing and Project Costing modules. Activities include the day-to-day hand-on support of functional issues along with a continuous education of the user base on existing functionality. In parallel, the position will work with key users and management to enhance usage on improvement initiatives or work as an analyst as part of an implementation team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Provide Oracle Applications 11i and/or R12 expertise to the user community and other IT colleagues in several of the following modules: GL, AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Project Billing, Project Costing, OM, and PO.

Assess and provide assistance to day-to-day functional issues, complete configuration changes and setups, and answer functional questions on the Oracle setup, configuration and workflow of processes that arise from the Oracle Applications user community.

Work with system users to translate business requirements into functional specifications; creating required documentation, conducting required system configurations, performing integration testing, and instructing users.

Research and analyze new software solutions whether it is for new Oracle modules or bolt-on’s, and present such findings to the pertinent business and IT communities.

Create and maintain documentation related to delivering support to existing usage of applications or to proposing new alternatives or process changes.

Act as a key liaison between the business user community and IT staff both on a regional and global basis.

Work in a functional business analyst role on special projects or new Oracle implementations when needed in order to provide continuity between new businesses and existing ones on the global instance.

Provide technical insight during the trouble-shooting of existing issues or during the formulation of enhancements or reporting. Able to work with Oracle support directly to lead and solve issues.

Interface with outside resources to accomplish tasks and initiatives including working with Oracle Support, third-party-vendors, and other users of Oracle products.

Function as team member or when required as a “Leader” on specified projects.

Skills and Competencies

Demonstrated aptitude to effectively communicate and constructively engage with all organizational levels, including ability to build consensus and drive decision making.

Exhibit expert knowledge to one or more of the following financial and distribution, specifically the Oracle GL, AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Project Billing, Project Costing, Order Management and Purchasing modules. Willing to learn other modules as required.

Must be able to effectively manage multiple initiatives and deadlines, and deliver high quality results using best-practice methods.

Use of soft skills and initiative to accomplishing tasks that shows ownership and resolve in getting things done.

Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills and experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences.

Mentor colleagues and user community in a suitable manner that creates synergy and that promotes an agile methodology atmosphere.

Ability to think logically, critically and constructively about complex problems, clearly communicate finding of analysis, and propose solution that address expressed needs.

Ability to collaborate and build consensus within team.

Ability to work without close supervision.

Education and Experience

A minimum of 6 years of direct functional Oracle experience applying expertise with the business user community. One or several of the following Oracle modules: GL, AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Purchasing, Order Management, Project Billing, Project Costing modules.

Manufacturing expertise is a plus.

Must have actively participated on several Oracle implementation projects in either a functional or technical capacity.

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related technical/business field.

Ability to perform rudimentary SQL queries and be knowledgeable on Oracle data model/table structures.

Physical Demands

Must be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including the ability to travel by air/auto to remote sites.

Must be able to work in front of a personal computer for long periods of time.

Flexibility to work over-time and weekends to resolve any system-related issues or maintenance.

Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time and be able to travel more frequently in some scenarios such as implementations or emergency situations. Able to travel globally if needed.
