Java Developer

Position Responsibilities

• Create user information solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining Java-based components and interfaces for our client-facing solutions.
• Define site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality.
• Design and develop user interfaces to internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and feature priorities throughout development life cycle; determine design methodologies and toll sets; complete programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests.
• Recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.
• Integrate applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; study and establish connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.
• Create multimedia applications by using authoring tools.
• Complete applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contribute to team meetings; troubleshoot development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
• Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools.
• Maintain and enhance job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participate in educational opportunities; read professional publications; maintain personal networks; participate in professional organizations.
• Enhance organization reputation by managing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Position Qualifications

• 4-8 years of development experience using Core Java
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is highly desired
• Object oriented design and development with knowledge of design patterns
• Spring framework experience
• Knowledge of Spring Cloud is a plus
• Maven for dependency management
• High level knowledge of micro services architectures is a plus
• Knowledge of Postgres is a plus
• Knowledge of Elastic search is a plus
• Knowledge of KAFKA is a plus
• Relational databases experience
• NoSQL databases experience
• Agile methodology experience
• AWS public cloud experience desired
• Jenkins experience desired
• Building REST API’s
• Asynchronous communication and messaging
• Strong troubleshooting and good communication skills
• Test and behavior driven development
• Ability to document coding changes
• Test and behavior driven development
