Destination Services Development Coordinator (Regent Seven Seas Cruises)

Responsibilities

BASIC PURPOSE :
Responsible for assisting in developing and researching new destinations, anticipating Destination and touring needs and requirements, foreseeing port potential or lack of and being proactive with troubleshooting such destinations. Assist in reviewing projected itineraries and assure destinations can deliver adequately, services for the Regent touring requirement and if not find and suggest solutions and alternatives. Assist in managing the Regent expectations with regards to limitations in some ports.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the conception of innovative and creative concepts for the development of existing and new Destinations.

Stay abreast of events happening around the world that might impact our ships/programs, e.i Chinese New Year, Carnival etc.

Assist in developing new opportunities and touring concepts outside of the normal shore excursion program.

Research alternative touring options/events/social impacts in under developed ports.

Work closely with Marine Operations to request or accommodate itinerary changes.

Keep the Training Department informed of any new developments in the destinations that we explore.

Disseminate information on new touring concepts to the Sales, Publications, Marketing and Training Departments as necessary.

Liaise with the Regional Managers to further implement new programs across the all fleets once operation is successful on the Regent Brand.

Liaise with the marketing team to ensure we can properly market our offerings and set realistic expectations of the destination.

Frequently participate in trainings of the reservations teams on destinations and expectations.

Assist Director to ensure all respective info is relayed prior to the season launch from the Product Development Team

Attend industry functions as necessary.

Monitor the Regent waitlist issues, providing support and suggest solutions in anticipation of such problematic ports and system solutions.

Perform other job related functions as assigned.

EDUCATION : Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study or any equivalent combination of relevant background and maritime experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE : 1 years experience in shore excursion / port destination development.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS : Strong global destination knowledge required. Excellent customer service skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills and excellent creative abilities. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel. Experience with Microsoft query builder. NVS Competency.

Must be able to summarize details as appropriate to support decision-making. Ability to work under fast paced, multi tasked & deadline driven environment. Ability to operate in a team driven environment and possess the ability to accept immediate project responsibility.
