Responsibilities

You will bring your deep expertise in early stage design to contribute to the development of experiences, materials, and prototypes for K-12 education. Quality visual and UX design will be instrumental in communicating the fundamental concepts of engineering, science, technology, and math/computational thinking.

The Education Workshop is looking for a highly skilled, curious and creative person to contribute to the realization of our future educational products. Excellent interpersonal skills are critical to allow you to succeed in our highly collaborative environment. You must also be highly organized and flexible to manage multiple projects to meet business needs, and project milestones. You will apply and develop best practices for transforming concepts into examples that communicate our ideas. Your deep understanding of tools, materials and processes will be tested as we ask you to apply that knowledge to the development of innovative educational products and experiences.

Qualifications

BA in Visual / UX Design or related design discipline

2-5 years experience as a Visual / UX Designer

Ability to strategically solve complex design problems

Comfortable executing all stages of the design process – concept, wireframes, design iterations, execution, reflection

Proficiency with design tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign; prototyping and photography skills a plus

Excellent communication skills; written and verbal

Self-motivated and positive

Ready to embrace new ideas, processes, technologies and adapt to new challenges

Ability to organize individual work, scope tasks, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders on timelines and deliverables

Efficient time management skills with minimal need for oversight

Strong portfolio is critical for this role—should demonstrate experience in process and execution
