Designer II

Our vision in Server and Management Studios (samstudios) is to deliver innovative, compelling, and cohesive user experiences that enable our customers to accomplish their goals with efficiency, simplicity and confidence. We deliver experiences for the IT Professional, the end users in enterprises as well as vertical IT solutions for the education space and small-medium businesses.

We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated, creative, and customer-focused Designer who is passionate about server technologies and IT services. Help us drive the transformation of cloud computing to our customers and partners. In this role, you will be a Designer for Microsoft Intune in the Azure Portal. You will collaborate with a talented UX team to help drive the design and partner with a Researcher to deliver useful, usable and desirable experiences that can compete and win in the mobile device management space. As a designer on our team, you will be responsible for delivering design and innovation across one or more facets of the design process, including rapid prototyping, storytelling, sketching, storyboarding, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, motion design, design research and usability.

The user experience designer must be a strong advocate for the user, know the user based on real customer interactions, and learn and champion industry-leading, user-centered design practices. Our goal is to deliver amazing products that generate excitement, products people love and enjoy using. Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in relevant design discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience working with interaction and graphic design skills and shipping products.
  • Ability to design solutions in traditional design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and/or After Effects as well as the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Computer Interaction, Digital Media Design, Industrial Design, Fine Arts or related field.
  • Online portfolio and portfolio review required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A well-rounded, experienced UX professional who connects the dots between business needs, innovation, and great design.
  • Experienced at driving a user experience from start-to-finish that delivers results, connects emotionally, and makes customers smile again and again.
  • Solid knowledge of design principles, design methodologies and solid visual foundation, design thinking. Capable of reducing complex concepts into understandable, actionable tasks.
  • Experience working on a multi-disciplinary team of designers and developers.
  • Confident presenting and promoting design solutions.
  • Server/IT/networking knowledge is desirable but not required

Additional qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to make compelling and clear design presentations for varied audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly produce elegant and easily understood diagrams, wireframes, and other artifacts
  • Experience creating, managing, or contributing to UI pattern libraries and interaction guidelines
  • Experience designing for complexity a plus
