Business Systems Analyst

The UHealthIT team at the Miller School of Medicine is seeking a Business Systems Analyst. Primary Duties and Responsibilities include: Performs systems administration functions to maintain and optimize software and applications. Confer with Program and Portfolio manager to advise on options, risks and impacts on other business processes, and businesses and systems priorities. Coordinate the dissemination of information and the collection of satisfaction information with all supported users. Develop system generated reports for users and management to assist in business decisions and monitoring. Gathers information and makes recommendations for system changes. Discusses systems’ problems with managers and users to determine their exact nature; defines the goals of the system and the steps necessary to achieve them. Uses techniques such as structured analysis, mathematical model building, and cost analysis to plan the system and needed modifications. Prepares diagrams and exhibits to explain the proposed system to managers and users in understandable format. Prepares a cost-benefit analysis to determine whether implementation/optimization of system is financially feasible. Tests systems to debug system as required to eliminate errors. Assist with technology reviews, evaluations and selection processes. Assists with planning and management of system upgrades. Assists with change control facilitation, processes, and management. Other duties as assigned.

The minimum requirements are: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
Knowledge of state-of-the art technology.
Experience with major systems development and implementation.
Ability to communicate ideas and provide solutions.
Ability to effectively work with people in other departments and/or outside of the enterprise. P
referred:
Clinical background and/or experience in a clinical setting.
Epic Certification(s) and/or experience in Epic. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.

Patient safety is a top priority.
