Business Objects Specialist, BI Client Services

Description

The BusinessObjects Specialist, BI Client Services, is responsible for providing customer support of BusinessObjects (BOBJ) to SGWS associates. Responsibilities include issue/request resolution, tool training and use support, system administration and report development/maintenance. Qualified candidates have hands-on experience with BusinessObjects 4.x and experience providing business intelligence support to a large customer base. The BusinessObjects Specialist has excellent customer service, communication, and problem solving skills.
Essential Functions:

Service Delivery
  • Provide technical support, analysis assistance and training for BusinessObjects suite of tools to Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits internal customer base.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to BOBJ access, user set-up, security and licensing
  • Troubleshoot tools, reports and data issues to resolve root cause issues
  • Create and update technical and functional documentation such as operational procedures, training materials, etc
  • Follow department client service strategies and standards related to ways of working, service level agreements and providing positive customer experiences
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and other support staff
  • Share BOBJ knowledge and best practices across the user base
  • Assist with change management efforts to drive adoption of new BOBJ tools, governance and reporting processes
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for BOBJ applications supported, leading specific projects as needed

Planning
  • Collect and document application enhancement needs
  • Support the definition and scope for the deployment of BOBJ tools at SGWS
  • Work with the training team to plan, develop and deliver BOBJ training

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years business analysis, business intelligence experience or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects 4.x to include Analysis for Office (AFO), Analysis for OLAP, WEBI, Explorer, Lumira, Crystal Reports, Dashboards, Design Studio, Information Design Tool (IDT) and Universe Designer Tool (UDT)
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to analyze complex business reporting requirements and develop innovative solutions
  • Strong client service orientation (customer support experience preferred)
  • Ability to execute cross-functional projects
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable speaking/presenting to groups
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously
  • Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Skills
  • Experience providing technical support
  • Wine and Spirits knowledge/experience
