The Design Engineer will provide technical expertise and knowledge of offshore units within the areas of Hull Structural design using AutoCAD and PDMS or Solidworks in deepwater projects in accordance with industry standards. Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within structural design, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering.


B.Sc degree in Structural, Mechanical or Civil Engineering or equivalent is preferred.

  • 2+ years experience of hull structural design within the offshore or shipbuilding industry.
  • Proven track record of structural design experience in Floaters (Semi-submersibles, FPSOs, TLPs).
  • Knowledge of Structural 2D and 3D using tools like AutoCAD, PDMS, Tribon/AVEVA marine, Solidworks, etc.
  • Knowledge in local rules, codes and standards; and international marine rules and regulations, practical experience is considered an advantage.
  • Experience with IT is an advantage.
  • The role may require you to travel on shorter business trips from time to time (10-20%)
