Position Summary

The Senior Marketing Programs Analyst is responsible for improving the effectiveness of North America marketing programs. Through application of data science techniques using skills such as SQL, SAS and Hyperion Query building, this person will transform data into actionable insights and recommendations. These will provide a direct input into Promotional and Marketing Planning, as well as provide internal guidance around media and creative planning. In addition, this role will generate weekly KPI performance for Marketing and Sales that are communicated to Executive leadership team to support Trading discussions. This position also works very closely with the North American Marketing Directors and Vice Presidents as well as with the rest of Sales & Marketing on all strategic matters. This significantly influences resource allocation and is in charge of marketing effectiveness analytics.

  • Identify and formalize data sources for purposes of tracking the effectiveness of marketing campaigns across traditional and digital media platforms.
    • Provide leadership on making recommendations to commercial leadership team for how marketing campaign effectiveness can be optimized.
  • Develop and report out on campaign effectiveness to the commercial trading group.
    • Undertake ad-hoc project work that provides greater insights into the effectiveness of the competitive sets marketing efforts.
    • Determine consumer and trade decision drivers to help craft more effective marketing practice.
  • Work with the Media, Creative and Digital Agency teams to help improve our targeting of high value guests.
    • Understand which promotions and levers generate a greater proportion of our overall booking volume from high value guests.
  • Generate quantifiable, actionable insights that support the generation of superior customer ticket revenue and onboard revenue yields.
  • Develop, implement and enhance high impact business reporting for Senior Brand Leadership & Executive teams.
    • Provide information and recommendations to leadership on regular and ad-hoc basis.
    • Provide analytical support on tactical and strategic projects.
  • Develop hypotheses, deploy sophisticated analytical techniques, and generate quantifiable recommendations that change the way we do business in order to grow revenue, reduce costs or improve guest satisfaction.
  • Work with partners in International Sales and Marketing Planning teams to share best practice globally in order to improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Collate and orchestrate the Weekly and YTD performance versus KPIs for the Sales, Marketing and Revenue Management Diagnostics Report.
  • Project leadership in multi-functional team settings – Leading a team without hierarchical authority against challenging deadlines.
  • Work with external business partners by sharing analyses and insights, allowing them to more effectively execute marketing initiatives.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of the different types of data from various departments including Revenue Management, Sales, Consumer Outreach and Web.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Four-year Bachelor’s or equivalent; or three to five years related business analysis experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Strong PC skills are required.
  • Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
  • Advanced BRIO (Hyperion) required.
  • Basic SAS and SQL preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the cruise industry.
  • Analytical: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and opportunities of alternative solutions and conclusions.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and options and implement solutions.
  • Presentation: Using computer skills and communication style to create, manipulate, edit and communicate slide presentations.
    • Understanding end-state and the best way to present a story in a logical and analytical fashion to achieve desired results.
  • Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are communicating and taking time to understand points being made.
  • Negotiating and Persuasion: Bringing others together to try to reconcile differences and persuading others to your point of view.
  • Financial Modeling: Evaluating data, determining optimal way to spend to accomplish company goals.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including executive-level presentation experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in achieving high-impact business results in a multi-business line work environment.
