WEB DEVELOPMENT SENIOR MANAGER

Job Description:Duties and RESPONSIBILITIES :
This position is responsible for managing a medium sized web development team comprised of back-end and front-end web developers utilizing a suite of Microsoft technologies. Members of the development team work individually or as part of a team of developers supporting different web projects. The development team works very closely with the web project management office on each project, where a project lead, business analyst, tester, and technical writer are assigned.

The Web Development Manager has several web developer leads reporting to them for managing team personnel and providing direction on individual projects. The Web Development Manager is responsible for coordinating with the Project Management Office (PMO) lead for resource assignment of development personnel to individual projects. The Web Development Manager is also responsible for forecasting team members for a rolling 3 month period and ensuring that each team member has targeted work.

Primary responsibility is to provide consistent direction to web development team members and ensure that projects are developed according to industry best practices, IC standards, have an enterprise focus and comply with federal 508 standards. The Web Development Manager must conduct reviews of projects to ensure projects are in alignment with all required standards and that timelines are accurate. The Web Development Manager is also responsible for providing a level of effort for new opportunities based upon high level functional requirements.

The Web Development Manager:

  • Manages the overall planning, development, implementation, and cost management of customer web applications.
  • Provides direction to the Web Authors, Web Developers and other team members for the development of databases, interactive applets and custom graphics.
  • Manages the implementation of new web capabilities to support customer objectives.
  • Responsible for the employment, training, motivation, discipline and performance evaluation of assigned employees.
  • Provides technical and personnel leadership and coaching to the web staff, including but not limited to, mentoring of new personnel and existing personnel to new technologies.
  • Establishes and enforces quality expectations for website development, editing and overall appearance.
  • Manages the website development process for selected solutions and leads design reviews at various development stages.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.

Required Qualifications :

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 12 to 15 years of related experience, including three to five years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Previous development experience.
  • Requires a minimum of an Active Top Secret clearance, although a TS/SCI with Ci Polygraph is preferred.

Desired Qualifications :

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience implementing development methodologies and structure.
