VP Engineering | Product Engineer

As a rapidly growing start-up, we’ve made significant inroads in the SaaS Industry offering specialised consulting to our partners and clients. With knowledge gained from this testbed environment, we’ve built our product to alpha stage and are now ready to get some real scalable code written and we want to build the team.

As the head of the product team, you’ll make a valuable contribution in these 7 key areas:

1. Product architecture

2. Team selection and growth

3. Getting the product ready for scalable expansion into existing client accounts

4. Product definition and strategy

5. Roadmap definition and planning to align with customer needs

6. Product operations definition and design

7. Build magnificent code

Requirements

Technical Skills:

Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science or related major (Exceptions made for exceptional engineering talent)
Experience leading agile teams developing large scale, complex platforms and applications
Portfolio of applications that clearly demonstrates coding proficiency, an eye for quality, understanding of security, and attention to performance – Send us examples of your GitHub or other project spaces
Multilingual (English, C, C#, Java, JavaScript, Node.JS, Ruby, etc.)
Experience in web application development and API integration
A deep understanding of RESTful web API principles
Comprehensive knowledge of RDMS and NoSQL databases and when to use each
Experience with Cloud computing platforms
10+ years’ experience in customer facing business services environments with Enterprise Software deployment
Micro-service application experience

Strong attention to detail and customer service orientation
Customer-journey thinking and design-approach
Excellent communicator with the ability to problem-solve while building and maintaining strong working relationships with customers
Strong intuitive leadership ability that leads by example
An ability to work in a customer-focused, client-facing, target-driven environment
Comfortable leading a group of people (both virtually or in-person) to bring focus and control over complex projects
A high degree of flexibility, team spirit, accountability and independence
Project management experience in a technology professional services, or SaaS environment with knowledge in various project management methodologies (Agile, PMI, Lean, etc)
Proven ability to leading development team processes such as code review, release management, and quality control
Experience in solution-implementation projects in large organizations
Change management experience

Additional Requirements:

Located in, or willing to relocate to, the Dallas-Fort Worth area
Authorized to work in the United States

Wow Factors:

Experience building AI and blockchain technologies
Ability and willingness to learn other programming languages as needed
Startup environment experience and/or the ability to work remotely
(virtual teams)

OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PRODUCT ARCHITECTURE

Define the 3 month initial roll-out, the 6 month and the 18 month plan for the product build
Define the tech stack for a scalable build of the product between the alpha prototyping work that has been happening
