Cyber Security Analyst (Entry Level Dallas)

Overview (Must be currently living in Dallas area)

Critical Start is seeking a entry-level Security Analyst to learn and grow within our Managed Security Services business to provide information security monitoring and response in the DFW TX region. No travel is expected with this role.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and Respond to Security Operations Center Customer Security Incidents
• Working with Sr. Security Analyst to Tune False Positives
• Research and Education on Current Threats and Detection Methodologies
• Assist with troubleshooting network & system issues within SOC
• Document all technical procedures and user guides

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 (2) years of experience in Information Technology OR a 4-year degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering or Cyber Security
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and data protocols
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge for the operation and deployment of Splunk, Carbon Black Response, and Cylance Endpoint Detection and Response agents.
• Experience and knowledge of IDS/IPS technologies
• Ability to communicate advantages and features of network security products
• Knowledge of packet capture and security products such as NetWitness and ProtectWise
• Knowledge of SSL Decryption technologies
