We are seeking a Systems Engineer in Fairfax, VA to support our government customer.

The candidate will create diverse enterprise-class design solutions, as part of a team, to meet the business objectives by integrating hardware, software, network, processes, etc. into solutions for new and existing systems; demonstrating a breadth of understanding of multiple disciplines and domains while maintaining a depth of proficiency in one or more disciplines and domains. Accordingly, the candidate must maintain an understanding of, and have experience with, delivering solutions for a wide-range of programs and customers; demonstrating the ability to address and resolve technical (hardware, software, network, etc.) problems; process critical information and data; establish business and technical boundaries and constraints; and draw conclusions necessary to delivery optimal and cost-effective solutions that meet our customer’s functional and business requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• This position will be responsible for the following:
• IT support relating to technical solutions involving Microsoft’s core business applications, as well as virtual environments built on Citrix and VMware
• Design, implement, and support services in core enterprise environments: SharePoint, Active Directory, Citrix, Windows Servers, Exchange, and VMware
• Remote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix
• Experience with PowerShell automation
• Engineer and implement system solutions for customers using technologies that meet their needs
• Support cluster and high available server technology to implement and support disaster recovery solutions
• Troubleshoot and correct problems with enterprise systems
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
• Produce and update technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials
• Aid the planning, integration, and transition to a hybrid AWS cloud environment
• Serve as a customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
• Participates in special projects as required.
• Manage project schedule and aid quick identification and resolution of technical challenges and obstacles to keep projects on schedule
• Work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment and lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain configuration management control in accordance with defined standards, policies, and industry best practices
• Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills are required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
• One or more professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, or VMware VCP
• 2+ years hands-on experience installing, configuring and maintaining SharePoint 2010/2013 systems and multi-farm topologies.
• 1 to 3years designing and developing enterprise-class systems, hardware, software, etc. solutions
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience in IT development, or networking, or system administration, and/or IT operations
• 3 years identifying, researching, evaluating and recommending new and emerging technologies
• 3 to 5 years of evaluating hardware and software solution trade-offs to formulate system design solutions
• 3 years of experience deploying and supporting enterprise level portals and collaboration solutions on SharePoint 2010/2013 platform using power shell scripts, JavaScript, jQuery, CSOM/Server Side apps, C#, XML/XSLT, HTML/DHTML and CSS.
• Top Secret security clearance is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in the following is a plus: Exchange/Lync Integration, performance tuning, SharePoint On-Premise and SharePoint On Line/Office 365 integration.
• AWS certification(s)
• Security Certifications

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

This position requires the candidate to already have a current Top Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance.
