Systems Administrator

JOB DESCRIPTION

The System Administrator will be part of an integrated system/networking team and will be responsible for the following, but not limited to, supporting the Infrastructure department in providing technical assistance to internal users, server/desktop deployment, and maintaining network/server room facilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install and maintain network hardware and software.
  • Analyze and isolate issues.
  • Monitor network/systems to ensure security and availability to all users.
  • Evaluate and modify system’s performance.
  • Determine network and system requirements.
  • Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
  • Ensure network connectivity throughout a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
  • Support internal users
  • Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.
  • Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers.
  • Assist in maintaining network servers such as file servers, email systems, SharePoint, production servers.
  • Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
  • Be available 24/7 to support company/production

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors and 1+ years’ experience
  • Microsoft Windows Server/Desktop OS
  • Office Productivity Suite
  • Networking Fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls)
  • Basic Unix knowledge
  • Symantec Backup Exec/Endpoint Protection
  • Active Directory
  • Multifunction Printers
  • Virtualization Technologies (Xen, VMWare)
  • Dell Server hardware

Language Skills:

  • Speaks excellent English and communicates information in a clear, concise manner
  • Strong writing skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Multi-limb and eye-hand coordination
  • Able to stand, bend, reach, stoop and lift boxes up to 75 lbs.
  • Able to sit at desk, working on computer and phones for a full work day
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment / multi-tasking with organization and efficiency
  • Able to work overtime as needed
  • Must be able to participate in uncontrolled standby duty on a rotational basis for occasional evening and weekend periods to handle infrequent internal and/or external client support emergencies
