With demonstrated capability in Mobile satellite communications, networking, and antennas, ViaSat is able to provide state-of-the-art communications systems for both commercial and government customers. You will be able to use your systems engineering skills to build the next generation of mobile advanced antenna products and satellite communications terminals.

As a Systems Engineer, you will contribute to every aspect of a program. This begins with conceptual discussions with potential customers, analysis of their requirements, and generation of a formal proposal. After contract award, you will be responsible for carrying out complete system-level design, implementation of the design, system verification, delivery, and final sell-off to the customer. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, including antenna, RF Electronics, positioner systems, digital hardware, mechanical, and software engineers, throughout this process.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in mobile terminal, complex radar, or communications systems engineering
Experience with architecting systems in a multi-disciplinary environment
Proven capabilities to conceptualize, design, implement, and test field satellite mobile terminals, antenna telemetry systems, or similarly complex systems
Strong analytical background coupled with hands-on implementation experience
Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or a similar technical degree
US government position. US citizenship required.
Travel up to 10%

Preferences

Knowledge of digital, RF, and software disciplines
Familiarity with aircraft environments and qualification requirements
Requirements definition and allocation experience
Security clearance or ability to obtain one
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical discipline
