Salary Range: $4,260 – $7,100 monthly

Hiring Range: $4,260 – $6,390 monthly (Salary will be commensurate with experience; complete compensation package includes employer paid family health care, generous pension plan, paid vacation and sick leave)

Summary of Work

Individual will be responsible for supporting the storage and backup environment in a large multi-system, multi datacenter enterprise computing environment. Individual is responsible for product evaluation, installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, technical support and project management related to all aspects of storage and backup devices. Individual will work with storage virtualization, thin provisioning, cloud and deduplication technologies.

Duties and Tasks

  • Operate and maintain large storage arrays running on IBM XIV, IBM DS Series, IBM Storewize and NetApp platforms.
  • Manage Enterprise Backups
  • Perform 24/7 monitoring of storage and backup systems
  • Support/troubleshoot data replication to disaster recovery sites
  • Monitor storage and backup hardware daily and resolve issues
  • Install code, BIOS and firmware updates on storage and backup systems
  • Work with Server System Administrators to assist with troubleshooting

In addition to the required technical competencies, the individual must also possess strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills; be able to work well with a variety people and possess strong communication skills as needed to mentor others and communicate highly technical information to non-technical and technical users. Individual must also be able to work in a deadline intensive work environment and possess the organizational and multi-tasking skills needed to manage projects, organize work and meet deadlines.

Individual will rotate with other team members to periodically work on-call shift work as scheduled and as necessary to provide customer support on a 24 x 7 basis.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a computer related field and three years of current, progressive, and specialized work experience supporting, administering and implementing complex, enterprise computing systems.

An Associate degree in a computer related field and five years of current & progressive related experience as stated may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree and three years of experience requirement.
