Responsibilities

The HME Technician II provides technical support and assistance in the Respiratory Care department. These duties include but are not limited to; assisting customers, stocking, processing of equipment, delivery of equipment and supplies, and tracking equipment for repairs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process dirty equipment.
  • Check all equipment new and rental for proper operation and function.
  • Complete necessary documentation to verify equipment is ready for patient use.
  • Complete home equipment maintenance visits and deliveries.
  • Manage the Lifeline program – establish patient accounts – schedule setups – instruct customers on use – schedule and conduct service calls.
  • Monitor preventative maintenance schedules to identify equipment requiring maintenance.
  • Complies with patient care and documentation procedures to ensure patient protection and safety.

    Education:

    High School diploma or GED equivalent
    .


    License:

    None required.


    Experience:

    Past experience in a clinical setting preferred but not required.

    Skills:

    Basic mechanical and computer aptitude required.

    Interpersonal Skills:

    Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must demonstrate initiative and good judgment. Promotes positive working relationships among co-workers through expressions of appreciation to others for the work they do. Works in harmony and with a spirit of cooperation with physicians and the general public. Disciplined to actively listen to customer’s needs and takes responsibility to address those needs

    Physical Effort:

    Heavy work – Infrequently lifting 100 pounds maximum and frequently lifting 50 pounds or less.
