Responsible for improving the quality of innovative products and solutions by developing and running automated tests to objectively assess conformance to the mutually-agreed upon requirements. Modify and execute test plans; create test scripts, stubs, drivers and test harnesses; schedule and run automated tests; and maintain automated tests based on changes to the software.

Essential Job Functions

The primary responsibility of a Software Test Engineer is coding and running automated regression tests which compliment manual testing.

Working with product owners and development teams to identify test requirements, define and write test cases, and build test plans.

Participate in design reviews and technical discussions making recommendations about user experience and product quality.

Identify work that needs to be completed, set priorities and deliver against them.

Design and develop automated testing solutions – stubs, drivers, and test harnesses.

Create test environments, labs, and data required for testing.

Execute automated and performance tests in coordination with deployments of software products, features and enhancements.

Work closely with the development team to analyze and reproduce debugs to determine root cause.

Monitor and review bug fixes to ensure they are properly retested and working.

Identify and report software risks to the releases.

Provide input on opportunities and expanding testing coverage.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
Technical degree preferred or equivalent experience required.

Software Testing experience or Certification is desired.

Demonstrated ability to design and create automated tests, including but not limited to regression tests, performance testing, and conversion tests.

General knowledge of file management, job scheduling, agile development and testing lifecycles.

Ability to query databases, analyze data and data formats for test validation purposes.

Working knowledge of at least one of at least one of the following is required: C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Classic ASP and VB Script preferred.

Experience with Visual Studio Team Foundation Server and Microsoft Test Manager desired.
