Job Summary:

Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others.

Intern will gain experience with programming assignments including coding, testing, debugging and installing programs according to written specifications, and department policies, procedures, and standards. Assist with design of enhancements to existing systems. Mentors with and provides assistance to the System Analyst/Programmers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Student currently pursing a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. Position requires familiarity with Java programming language and web stack technologies (Java Script, HTML, CSS).

We are seeking an ambitious Software Developer Intern to assist in Agile Automation and Knowledge Management throughout Genscape’s technology teams. Genscape embraces agile delivery methods, including both SCRUM and Kanban, and blends them together to achieve the best delivery outcome. Specifically, the Genscape teams deliver using this hybrid agile delivery approach enabled by a number of tools. During your internship, you will play an important part in integrating these tools and improving efficiency throughout our delivery teams.

A typical day in the life of a Software Developer Intern at Genscape will include the following:

  • Researching and understanding Knowledge Management workflow and the supporting tools that enable the teams to properly leverage interactive white boards working between teams across multiple global locations, supporting SCRUM team recordings, design artifacts, project metrics, etc.
  • Sharing knowledge and bringing awareness to all team members for continuous improvement and efficient and on-time project delivery
  • Working with and researching the Software Development teams, including SCRUM Masters, Architects, Developers, User Experience Designers, and Product owners to understand their roles, tools, and other needs to support delivery
  • Collaborate with the CTO and direct reports to devise the most optimal workflow and tools strategy for current and future team delivery needs
  • Assist with analysis, selection and introduction of tools that are needed to support the current and future technology visions
  • Playing a critical role in optimization of how the software organization moves forward to improve the organization and the process itself

This job might be for you if:

  • You are pursuing Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or related
  • Exposure to Agile Delivery methods, including both SCRUM and Kanban
  • Must be comfortable with developing applications in a Microsoft environment
  • Must have strong communication skills, a passion to learn, and an ability to work well with varying personalities
  • Exposure to Web-based technologies (SOAP, ReST, HTML/JavaScript/CSS) preferred
  • Significant experience with one or more of the following: C#, Java, C++
