Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4 years of related experience or a comparable combination of education, experience, and/or training.

Demonstrated experience and programming abilities with languages such as Java, PHP, Ruby, Python, Perl.

Experience with Javascript or JScript, and HTML/CSS.

Experience working with SQL, relational database modeling and design.

Experience working in development environments that include a variety of technologies (such as Java, PHP, Oracle, MySQL, Perl, Python).

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a lead developer on a full-cycle software development effort

Working knowledge of Git or other version control environments.

Familiarity with Javascript libraries and frameworks (such as Bootstrap, AngularJS, Node, JQuery).

Experience with TDD and automated testing technologies.

API and integration design, development and support tools.

Continuous Integration tools and technologies such as Jenkins or Travis.

Automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

Experience with virtual machines/virtualization techniques (for example, VMware, Docker).

Job Responsibilities:
Lead development efforts on small to large project teams, serving as the subject matter expert from analysis to implementation.

Build an understanding of our application landscape and identify areas for improvement within applications and/or processes.

Field internal requests or issues from team members; assess common challenges of users; and then devise and implement solutions, automated processes, or documented procedures.

Conduct a full range of programming activities including design, code, test, review, debug, document, and enhance existing components to ensure that software meets business needs.

Extend and integrate software packages as needed based on functional requirements provided by business units.

Collaborate with other technical areas (Database Administration, System Administration, Change Control, etc.) to ensure application performance and availability expectations are met.

Provide ongoing maintenance of applications and systems.

Proactively troubleshoot production, application, or website issues.

Act as escalation point for complex issues as they arise.

Conduct analysis to determine and plan for new programs, system integrations, or system upgrades.

Mentor and coach less experienced developers.
