Senior Technical Analyst / Developer – Temporary Contract Role

Boutique management consulting firm seeks an experienced Technical Analyst / Developer to assist our potential client with the completion of the remaining development work to replace an existing application. The application is being redeveloped from an Oracle to a Microsoft SQL based system. The client is also looking for guidance and support of the application during the rollout of the new system and the stabilization period after implementation.

Currently, the client is completing the programming of the user interfaces and backend processes. The anticipated remaining work from July on will be to fix remaining critical bugs that have been revealed in the client’s testing, assist with the implementation, fix bugs that are discovered after implementation, make any adjustments to the code to improve efficiency and response time, and serve as a programming resource during the stabilization period.

Engagement is expected to run from July thru December 2017 . This is an ON SITE role in Lacey, WA

The selected consultant will produce deliverables as follows:

Collect Requirements: Collaborate with client IT staff and client business area experts to create detailed requirements of changes and enhancements to the application in question.

Programming: Write or modify computer code in order to make changes or enhancements to the application as directed by the client’s Lead Developer.

Documentation: Document all tasks in TFS and ensure that no programming occurs unless an approved task is entered into TFS.

SQL Programming: Develop or make modifications to SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages as directed by client’s Lead Developer.

Mentor Client Staff: Work with client’s IT staff during the development of application to ensure understanding of the system architecture and knowledge transfer to clients IT team.

Testing: Complete Unit Tests for key application components.

Implementation Assistance: Provide technical advice and guidance on production deployments as requested by the client’s Lead Developer.

Knowledge Transfer: Provide technical briefings of client’s IT staff to transfer knowledge.

We are seeking senior application developer(s) that have the following knowledge and skills:

Consulting, design, programming, maintenance, and support for applications and databases.
NET, ADO.NET and Microsoft SQL Server
Knowledge of C#, NET and Object Oriented Programming
SQL Server Reporting and SQL Server Integration, Visual Studio.NET, Javascript, web services
XML 1.0 or greater, jQuery, Oracle database, and cascading style sheets are also desirable.
TFS
Documenting applications (user and technical documentation).

Contractor Qualifications and Experience Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

Availability to start work in month of July 2017.
5 years of programming experience with ASP.Net, C#, .NET Framework, ADO.Net, Visual Studio.Net, and Object Oriented Programming.
5 years of experience with MS SQL including stored procedures, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) development, and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSIS).
2 years experience with HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery and WCF / “Indigo”.
5 years experience providing maintenance, enhancements and development assistance to IT teams involving using web services to communicate between applications including both publishing using native XML database Web Service and consuming web services.
5 years experience mentoring/training developers on Microsoft-based applications.
5 years experience estimating the time and cost for enhancements and data maintenance.
5 years experience working with users and other technical staff in an iterative design and build project environment using Scrum and agile project management techniques.

Highly Desired Experience and Qualifications:

Experience developing environmental or scientific information systems.
Experience with web services to communicate between Microsoft apps & Oracle databases.
Experience performing data migration and clean up associated with transferring data from an Oracle database to a Microsoft database.
Experience in working with Telerik controls
