Scrum Master

Essential Functions:
Serve and support the product owner and development team in their endeavor to serve
customers
Provide all support to the team and lead by example keeping the Scrum and Agile principles
in mind
Guide and coach the scrum team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices, with
the focus on creating a self-organized team
Guide and coach both the scrum team and the development team to fill in the intentional gaps
left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
Assess the scrum maturity of the team and organization, and coach the team to higher levels
of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
Remove impediments faced by the scrum team
Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear or
judgment, focusing on problem solving.
Facilitate getting work done without coercion
Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and flow of
information
Support and educate the product owner, particularly with respect to refining and managing
the product backlog.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
First-level scrum master certification (PSM I, CSM ); second- or third-level scrum master
certification a plus (PSM II, PSM III, CSP, CTC)
