Recreation Customer Service Rep – PT

Position Summary

Assists with the operation of the recreation/community center front office as well as administrative support for the CARS Department staff. Performs a variety of clerical and office procedures as well as handles telephone calls and walk-in customers to the facility. Must be available to work daytime hours but should be available to work occasional evenings, weekends and be on call as needed. Reports to the CARS Administrative Assistant, under the supervision of the CARS Director.

This position will work approximately 8 – 12 hours per week.

Examples of Duties

Clerical

  • Operates a variety of office equipment.
  • Responsible for general clerical functions including, but not limited to, typing letters, memos, flyers and other promotional materials, copying, filing, mail, scheduling, etc.


General

  • Handles phone calls from public as well as walk-in customers.
  • Keeps current with the changing of the community center activities, hours, etc.
  • Assists in completing the daily cash reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Technical

  • Inputs accurate information into the CARS program software module for membership and activity registrations.
  • Uses a variety of computer software programs such as Outlook and other Microsoft Office products to complete work tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience with various computer software programs such as Outlook and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Advanced keyboarding skills.

Supplemental Information

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Previous experience in a recreation setting.
  • Experience with a multi-line phone system and heavy customer traffic.
  • Ability to speak, read or write any language other than English, including sign language.
