Recreation Clerk I – Aquatics/Recreation

Summary: Provides customer service, uses recreation and point-of-sale software to collect all transactions using credit cards, cash, or checks at Currents Aquatic Center front desk. Responsible for registering customers for all Parks and Recreation programs, aquatics pass sales, reserving facilities and answering phones. Performs cleaning duties daily. Under the supervision of the Recreation Support Specialist, provides customer service, uses recreation and point-of-sale software to collect all transactions using credit cards, cash, or checks at Currents Aquatic Center front desk. Responsible for registering customers for all Parks and Recreation programs, aquatics pass sales, reserving facilities and answering phones. Performs cleaning duties daily. Requires the ability to interact positively as an effective member of a working team.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Greet customers as they enter the facility, take payment and provide information regarding facility rules and policies; responsible for good accounting practices with cash handling policies and procedures including credit card payments, cash irregularities and daily deposits. Perform cleaning duties as assigned, and keep work area clean and clutter free. Work with other staff to provide customers a positive first impression which conveys an inviting, safe, clean, and friendly recreational experience.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Cash handling in point-of-sale computer program, routinely enter information into the computer recreation software; register customers for recreation programs, facility reservations, and provide customer service including selling season and annual passes, multi-pass cards, city discount cards, and reservations for parties. Answer patron questions by phone or in person regarding programming, facility policies, concessions and general city recreational opportunities. Clean the facilities including sweeping the floor, wiping tables and counter tops, clean windows, lobby and restrooms and dusts daily Specific responsibilities vary and will be detailed further during orientation and in-service training sessions. Responsible to perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous work experience in making financial transactions and working with the public is preferred. Experience with computers preferred. CPR/AED preferred.

Hours per week: 20-30

Must be available: days, evenings and weekends

$9.04/hr –
