Recreation Cashier I – Splash

Under the supervision of the Recreation Support Specialist, provides customer service while working in a fast paced, hot environment. Will use recreation and point-of-sale software to collect all transactions using credit cards, cash, or checks at Splash Montana. Interact with patrons and possess good people skills. Requires the ability to interact positively as an effective member of a working team while following policies and procedures.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Follow good accounting practices for cash handling using point-of-sale computer program including credit card payments, reconciling cash irregularities and daily deposits. Wait on, serve customers, and sell merchandise. Inform customers of programs and provide general park information. Assist with cafe, dippin” dots, and grill cashier duties. Assist with general cleaning responsibilities throughout the watecashierrpark. Answer patron questions and perform other duties as assigned.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Take all payments for daily entries, food orders and merchandise for front desk, cafe, grill, dippin” dots, and the otter shop. Cash handling in point-of-sale computer program, routinely enter information into the computer recreation software, and provide customer service including occasional selling of season and annual passes, multi-pass cards, and city discount cards. May assist with follow up procedures for all types of parties. Answer patron questions by phone or in person regarding programming, facility policies, cafe and general city recreational opportunities. Maintain sanitary serving and eating areas including clearing tables, grills, water fountains, counters, mopping, cleaning and emptying trash cans. Clean the facilities including sweeping the floor, wiping tables and counter tops, and clean windows. Restock food, snack bar products, utensils, and condiments in public area. Stock and restock merchandise at The Otter Shop. Responsible to perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have the ability to read, write, and follow oral or written instructions. Previous serving and waiting/experience, making financial transactions with point-of-sale system, and working with the public are preferred. CPR/AED certification preferred.

Hours per week: 20-30

Must be available: days, evenings and weekends $8.42/hr –
