Realty Program Coordinator

To perform the position’s duties the employee must be available to travel throughout the state.

This position coordinates the DNR’s public auction and direct land sales program. The position also coordinates the Division of Lands and Minerals conservation easement stewardship work, including facilitating agency-wide conservation easement stewardship and enforcement committees and performing or coordinating legal and professional services work needed for conservation easement enforcement, amendments, and processing of requests for approval under easement terms or as required by funding restrictions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates the sale of surplus state-owned lands through public land sales and direct sales.
  • Coordinate Conservation Easement Stewardship and Enforcement Program. Provides guidance and advanced, specialized professional expertise to conservation easement stewardship staff and other agency staff in the implementation of DNR’s conservation easement stewardship program per Op Order 128.
  • Provide or coordinate legal and professional services work needed for conservation easement enforcement, amendments and approvals under conservation easement terms or required by funding restrictions.
  • Attend and participate in educational programs to expand or develop knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND four years of experience working on multi-faceted aspects of real estate projects.
  • OR , Five years of experience working on multi-faceted aspects of real estate projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of Minnesota real estate law and technological concepts.
  • Understanding of the working and activities of government programs.
  • Ability to provide lead worker direction to professional and technical staff.
  • Project management skills sufficient to demonstrate ability to manage multiple complex projects at various stage of completion at one time.
  • Group facilitation and negotiation skills sufficient to resolve conflict and model correct processes to personnel.
  • Experience in building trusting relationships with local units of government and other parties and interest groups.
  • Demonstrated planning skills sufficient to plan and organize projects and priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with individuals, small, and large groups and make effective presentations on technical and policy issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of real estate, business or natural resources.
  • A doctorate of law, and an attorney’s license authorizing practice in Minnesota.
  • Successful participation of the State of Minnesota Star of the North Fellowship program.

Physical Requirements
Requires occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as file folders, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.

Additional Requirements
This position requires an unrestricted Class D Driver’s License with a clear driving record.
