Program Manager Senior (Technical)

Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY :

Responsible for the performance of a relatively significant technical, non-technical, and/or intelligence related program or multiple smaller non-technical programs in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures and guidelines. Program area typically represents more than three functional areas. Also responsible for acquiring follow-on business associated with assigned programs and for supporting new business development by leading proposals. Responsible for the employment, training, coaching, mentoring, motivation, discipline and performance evaluation of assigned employees.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

The client is looking for an IT Program Manager (PM) to join its Infor- Lawson ERP upgrade and cloud migration project. This high visibility project will provide for an upgrade and migration of the ERP application and system by the ERP Vendor to a more sustainable system. The customer needs the services of a self-starter who will work hand-in-hand with and provide timely support to the Program Manager. The selected PM will provide a valuable interface with the customers who will need to participate fully by providing and validating user requirements for the overall project to be successful. The PM will also interface with the customer’s Senior Managers, the Infor Vendor, and Sponsor’s onsite technical personnel. Bottom-line is that the PM will work with both the client or and the client partners and customers to coordinate the development and management of the customer’s Infor-Lawson ERP upgrade and cloud migration project. In addition, the selected IT Program Manager will maintain a strong awareness of technical trends in information technology, develop and maintain a strong awareness of on-going IT projects, and business unit requirements; be able to apply the project management model (e.g. Spiral, Waterfall, Agile) selected for a given development effort; and provide analysis, design, development, deployment, and lifecycle support for proposed cloud-based system and application solutions. Work involves being able to develop end-to-end schedule analysis for projects; ensure systems being developed comply with the enterprise technical architecture; help project and program teams prepare for program control gates; and keep senior management apprised of project or program status.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and 16 or more years of experience, including three to five years of supervisory/management experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

1) Demonstrated on-the-job project management and system engineering experience with developing, upgrading and/or migrating large scale enterprise projects to an AWS private cloud hosting environment. 2) Demonstrated on-the-job/academic/training experience with and understanding of Agile methodology, SOA and ‘Cloud’ architectures, information sharing, data base repositories and collaboration technologies (wiki / blog), and Microsoft tools (e.g., MS Office, MS Project and MS Visio). 3) Demonstrated on-the-job experience providing support to development and operations projects. This support includes requirements analysis, collection, and definition, development of detailed schedules and priorities, tracking the status of project activities and deliverables. 4) Demonstrated on-the-job experience preparing briefings, service level agreements and memoranda as required. Experience capturing and distributing meeting minutes and action items and trace action items to ensure successful completion. 5) Demonstrated on-the-job experience and skills in creating, drafting, and contributing to program documentation, such as but not limited to MS Project schedules, correspondence, briefings, operating procedures, memorandums reports, and engineering documents (e.g. Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Interface Design Specification (IDS), System Design Specification (SDS), and Requirement Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM), etc ). Clearance level required is TS/SCI w/Poly.
