Product Development Manager

Our Opportunity:
Chewy is currently recruiting for a Product Development Manager in our Dania Beach, Florida location.

What you’ll do:

• Create product briefs and recipe designs for product development projects
• Work with Product Manager to meet all required project deliverables
• Support ongoing improvement of existing products by analyzing raw material and finished product nutritional data
• Drive product development to meet cost targets
• Reformulation of existing product to achieve cost savings
• Execute new product commissioning at co-manufacturers
• Support co-manufacturing vendors throughout development process
• Track nutritional data for raw materials and finished products
• Schedule all analytical and feeding studies with appropriate vendors
• Coordinate and handle trainings with internal and external customers
• Follow AAFCO requirements for labeling pet foods for new and existing products
• Work with Director of Product Development for new product innovation

What you’ll need:

• Degree in Food Science, Food Processing, Microbiology or related science degree
• Minimum 3 years working in product development and process development in pet food manufacturing and have an understanding of ingredients functionality
• Multi-functional team leadership and project management
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)
• Ability to drive process improvement
• Willingness to seek professional growth and development as the scope of the position increases
• Demonstrated integrity, maturity, professionalism, and sensitivity
• Travel is required for this position up to 40%
