Job Summary :

The person hired for the position of Product Development Engineer will be primarily responsible for the identification and implementation of new opportunities to improve the performance, quality, and ease of manufacture of CSD’s cast vinyl films within the Graphics and Architectural Markets Portfolio. The individual will be accountable for evaluating raw materials (RM) and developing a fundamental understanding of Organosol solution, pigment technologies, the film casting process, and assessment techniques to predict outdoor durability. Longer term, the person hired for this position will establish themselves as a technology expert in this division critical platform.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Advance and sustain the Organosol technology platform
• Contribute to class 4/5 development programs
• Build relationships with key raw material suppliers
• Maintain awareness of industry trends, including supply volatility
• Consultant and source of expertise for RMs, Organosol, pigments, and weathering
• Effective communication across functions and skill levels

Basic Qualifications:

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
• Minimum of four (4) years of combined product development experience in a private, public, government and/or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer science, materials science, or related field from an accredited university
• Knowledge of industrial scale materials processing (solutions, films)
• Experience developing and scaling formulations from the laboratory to the factory
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with global and multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong desire to support the advancement of a core divisional technology platform
